A plaster of Paris (calcium sulphate) 'erotic' relief tile with sooting on the reverse. The tile depicts a man and woman, the woman seated on a stool. The stool supports a date in the second half of the 18th century. The tile is complete but somewhat scratched. From a fireplace on the upper storey of Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, 145 Fleet Street EC4.
