A very large white stone Celtic cross carved and decorated with inscriptions commemorating the Prince Imperial. The monument was finally erected in 1881 to commemorate the death of Napolean III. His family lived in exile at Camden Place in Chislehurst, following Napolean III’s defeat in the Franco-Prussian war of 1870.
