Six homes on Persant Road in Catford’s Excalibur estate have been given a Grade II listing. The Excalibur estate was one of the largest to be built in Forties post-war England in one of the London's most heavily worst-bombed boroughs. The homes are of special architectural interest for the innovative use of prefabrication, wrap-around corner windows and the appearance of flat roofs.
The residents have been fighting to save all the homes from demolition. Lewisham council wants to redevelop the site.
