Waiting to see the Doctor. A study at the Seamen's Hospital Dispensary, Well Street, London Docks. The Seamen's Hospital Dispensary was established near the docks to provide medical advice and medicine to unemployed sailors. The dispensary provided free care to all seamen, regardless of their country of origin or religious belief, requiring only that they gave evidence of active employment at sea. An illustration taken from The Graphic, 26th February 1881.
