Sierra Leone I. 'Cutting Down a Fetish-tree', unsigned, undated, but probably published by the Church Missionary Society, 1850 or later. A fetish tree being removed at Waterloo, Sierra Leone. The fetish-tree decorated with pieces of cloth, animal skulls and bones and knives would have been considered idolatrous by Christian missionaries and so removed.
