Christmas trees in Covent Garden Market. In 1952, Covent Garden was still London's principal flower, fruit and vegetable market. It had become clear that this centre of activity could not stay in such a congested part of London. In 1973, the flower market relocated. Its former building now houses London's Transport Museum and the Theatre Museum.
