Sketch of the 'soap manufactory, Lower Mall, Hammersmith' on the river, dated 6th August. On reverse is a second ink sketch of the 'Lime Kiln, Hammersmith'. John Claude Nattes was a watercolour painter, pupil of Irish painter Hugh Dean, well known as a topographical draughtsman. Original member of the old Water Colour Society 1804, but expelled 1807.
