Full image caption

A City Pageant, 'with an approved method riding a restline horse without danger'. Allusion to the 19th April Lord Mayor's Banquet when Sir John Eamer gave a grand dinner to which the Prince of Wales went, in honour of the peace. The sheriffs did not go because they received personal invitations only instead of the customary cards for their friends.
