Whitefriars chalice. Large chalice made in thick Sea Green glass and with a blue knop. Its Cup-shaped bowl has a domed foot set on a stem with a central large blue ball knop containing platinum foil between two green plain sections, on a large blown trumpet foot. Probably designed by Harry Powell in c.1905. Harry Powell began to experiment with platinum foil inclusions in 1877-79, but the first recorded display of glass containing platinum was not until the Arts and Crafts Exhibition of 1903.
