'Lotus' decanter and stopper in Flint glass, copper wheel engraved with a pattern of lotus flowers. Designed by Harry Powell for the Prince of Siam in 1899. The decanter has a footed claret jug with a tear-shaped body and a handle at the shoulder. The stopper has a hollow inverted drop shape, with a knob finial and four polished moons. The decanter is part of a service which was produced until the 1920s. The Siamese legation were frequent visitors to Whitefriars from the 1880s. The King of Siam attended Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee in 1897.
