Two experimental whitefriars' pieces. Harry Powell first began experimenting with platinum leaf in 1877-79, and went on to develop dichroic glass in 1881. On the left: Vase of translucent pale blue glass with rough mica inclusions, low squat body and tall wide flared neck; on the right: Vase of dichroic red, blue 'chameleon' glass containing marvered in platinum foil with low squat body and tall wide flared neck.
