Vase made in Blue Opal glass, with cylindrical neck, wide shouldered, rounded funnel bowl tapering to narrow base on merese, and optic moulded foot. Decorated with copper wheel engraved leaf bouquets with sections of 'flower cane'. In 1876 Harry Powell notes 'sections of flower canes used on jugs (Bibby)'. Bibby, a glass blower who seems to have specialised in decorative techniques, left in the summer of 1877, after the introduction of the opal glasses, so this could have been made by him.
