Illustration from the children's grammar book. The book comprises 64 pages giving instruction in grammar and the composition of letters and correspondence. The cover has a printed paper label marked 'Grammar and Letters'. Its inner title page marked 'Short and easy rules for attaining a knowledge of English grammar to which are added a few letters for the formation of Juvenile correspondence'. This illustration shows a lady in the company of a boy and a girl, outside in a garden. The lady and the boy are holding books; the lady is gesturing towards a monument which has the name Johnson engraved upon it.
