Biface flint tool. Bifacially worked, pointed biface or handaxe of sharp, stained flint, from the Lower Palaeolithic period. Some of the cortex is left on the butt. Part of a group of flint tools said to have come from the site of the Regent Palace Hotel, Glasshouse St, Piccadilly. The unusually fresh condition of this example suggests that it must have lain close to where it had been dropped by the last user.
