Enamelled gold brooch with closed case. A gold brooch with blue enamelling, in the form of a scallop shell, enclosing a glass covered compartment for hair in the reverse. This brooch was made in England, in the mid-19th century. It is shown with the original leather, shell-shaped, retailer's case.
