Silver pair-case verge watch with sun/moon indication and calendar. It has a plain silver inner case with Swiss watchcase maker's mark 'IMC'. The outer case is cast silver, chased on the back with a scene of Iphegenia, in a cartouche framed by shells and a fountain. The hours 6-12-6 are indicated in the upper half of the dial by a rotating disc, half of which is visible at any one time. One half represents daylight, a sun serving as the hour hand, and a crescent moon serves the same purpose the other side. Minutes are shown on the outer edge. In the lower half of the dial there is a repousse whaling scene. Such subjects on watches are comparatively rare.
