Steel knee buckle set with rosecut agates, dated early 19th Century. This buckle has a rectangular frame with openwork scroll pattern set with agates, heart shaped in the four corners and circular and oval along the sides. Anchor-shaped steel chape with a four-pronged pins. Knee buckles were worn from the 1720s, from the 18th century onwards, they came in sets with matching shoe buckles.
