Kennistoun House rent protest, Kentish Town. A woman passes a group of people outside Kennistoun House, Kentish Town. They had watched an angry protest over rental charges, and helped to prevent a police van from entering the courtyard. Tenant Don Cooke, who had barricaded himself in his council flat, had been evicted from the house that morning. He and fellow tenant Arthur Rowe were protesting against rent increases demanded by St Pancras Borough Council.
