Sculpture studio, Slade School of Fine Art. Two students working on sculptures, based on a female life model, at the Slade School of Fine Art. Founded by Felix Slade in 1871, the school became part of the University College London.
Creating works of art from life modelling was an important discipline at the art school, and the Slade was the first British Art School to allow women the same access to life model classes as men.
