A ten-pin bowling alley in London. At a new mechanised ten-pin bowling alley, this young lady gets involved in the latest craze to sweep the country from America. The first bowling alley opened on 20 January 1960, in Stamford Hill north London, in a converted A.B.C. cinema. By 1962, A.B.C. had five bowling centres operating. The People newspaper ran a feature on 28 January 1962 about the bowling craze, predicting that it would become Britain's most popular family game.
