English Folk Dance and Song Society New Year Festival. The annual New Year Festival of English Folk Dance and Song took place at the Royal Albert Hall on 15th and 16th January. Included in the performances were Morris dancers and sword dancers. The English Folk Dance and Song Society formed through a merger in 1932. Its purpose was to preserve and promote English folk dance and song, and many folk festivals across the country were initiated as a result.
