Anti-nuclear protestors march on the road to Aldermaston. On route from London, these people were taking part in the first march to Aldermaston. Labour politician Michael Foot, amongst others, had rallied the crowds when they gathered in Trafalgar Square. They marched to the nuclear base at Aldermaston in Berkshire, supported by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (C.N.D.), to call for an end to the use and testing of nuclear weapons. The march was repeated annually between 1959 and 1963.
