Demonstrators outside Parliament. A crowd outside parliament are lobbying for 'No War with Egypt'. Many different groups were involved; the individual in the centre is a representative of the Yorkshire coal miners. National concern over the Suez Crisis generated a demonstration in Trafalgar Square and a march on parliament and Downing Street. Unrest centred on the Anglo-French invasion of Egypt and dissatisfaction with the role played by Prime Minister Anthony Eden, who had been elected the previous year.
