The Celebrated Graman Quacy. Representations of Africans: Kuasimukamba or Graman Quacy. Engraving and etching. Kuasimukamba was also known as Graman Quacy - 'Great man Kuasi'. By the mid-1770s he had became famous as a medicine man and seer in the Dutch colony of Surinam. He was so successful that he was able to buy his freedom and establish his own business.
