Depiction of Lord Nelson's funeral which took place in St. Paul's Cathedral on 9th January 1806. He was buried in the crypt in the black marble sarcophagus originally made for Cardinal Wolsey by Benedetto da Rovezzano in 1524-9. A monument carved by Flaxman in 1808-18 stands in the nave of the south transept.
