Messrs. Pott's Vinegar Manufactory, Bankside. This watercolour drawing shows the factory yard when "fielding" was in progress: this was the slow method for acetic fermentation. In 1840 Pott's could claim to have the largest stock in hand of any vinegar maker in England. St Paul's is visible in the background.
