Length of fabric printed with repeat pattern of a scene of the Battle of Brittain. Printed in red, blue, green,yellow and black. The fabric is edged with a band which is decorated with broken vertical lines. Its central image depicts squadrons of aeroplanes flying over central London with several aircraft involved in battle and some shot down in flames. The skyline depicts famous London landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral and Tower Bridge. The foreground shows the city as a bombsite with broken walls, trees, columns and bricks strewn around. A thick border with diamond shaped pendants is edged with a band decorated with a greek key pattern from which protrudes a row of aeroplane bodies. The border at the top of the fabric depicts an aerial view of planes flying above a landscape and the pendants depict anti-aircraft baloons. The lower border shows a graveyard of crashed planes in clouds of smoke with the pendants depicting anti-aircraft guns shooting from sandbagged defences.
