Iron Age iron dagger and sheath. The dagger originally had a wooden grip decorated with bronze and iron fittings. The sheath is made from wood, bound with bronze strips and decorated with four indentations near hilt guard. Daggers similar to this were made on the continent, but the style of the sheath is British. This example was probably manufactured abroad and the sheath was later repaired or replaced when it was brought to Britain.
