Three late bronze-age leaf-shaped swords. They were found in various parts of the Thames between Millwall and Wandsworth. The sword on the left has been dated to 1275BC-1140BC and was found near Battersea Park. The centre example, dated to approximately 1150BC, was recovered at Limehouse Reach in 1835. It is decorated with incised lines down the length of the blade and had a wooden or bone grip that disintegrated on initial handling when found. The third example has been dated to 1600BC-1000BC, and was found opposite The Feathers public house in Wandsworth.
