Tottenham Court Road. As late as the 1840s, Tottenham Court Road was still bordered by farm land at its north end. According to this aquatint, the pace of life was decidedly rural, as people continued to drive cattle south from Hampstead to Oxford Street. This print is from Ackerman's Repository of Arts.
