The Regent Street Quadrant at Night. Oil on canvas. View of Quadrant, taken from just below Glasshouse Street and looking south towards Piccadilly Circus. The entrance to Swallow Street is visible in the distance. This view was painted with little light coming from the hidden moon, the painting relies mainly on artificial lighting. Three typical Victorian omnibuses of the garden-seat variety can be seen passing by, and six hamson cabs are waiting at a cab stand in the centre of the street.
