John Birnie Philips at work on the Albert Memorial. Watercolour. John Birnie Philips is working inside a covered structure which was specially constructed for the sculpture he is working on. On the lower pediment he is carving the frieze of artists, 17th century panel. There are two workmen, in overalls at work on the stone, while the artist in daywear gives them orders and discusses the work. This watercolour is possibly by R. Langer since it is signed by R. L. 72.
