Exterior view of the Royal Patriotic Asylum. Oil on canvas. The asylum situated at Trinity Road, Wandsworth was for the orphaned daughters of the Crimea. It was known as The London Territorial Hospital at the time it was painted and it was taken over by Hitchcock Williams's army unit in 1914. The asylum has now been turned into a complex of flats, workshops and studios.
