The interior of a cloth merchant's. The figure of the merchant, probably a linen draper, sitting down on the left, appears to be a portrait. The scene also features a fellowship porter, holding a bale of cloth and two clients at the back, one with a tally stick possibly calling out measurements. The shop appears to be situated in a complex of similar shops with a wholesale vintner 'outside', sampling wine with a group of three men examining the contents of a Dutch glass over a barrel.
