Fresh Wharf London Bridge. George Davison Reid took this photo of Fresh Wharf from the north side of London Bridge. The busy wharf handled canned products and fresh fruit and vegetables from across the empire's colonies. Once off the steamers, the goods would be transported to market by horse and cart. Reid photographed activity along the banks of the River Thames extensively during the late 1920s and early 1930s.
