No.5 of Thomas Rowlandson's eight 'Cries of London'. Published 1 March 1799. A woman is trying to sell watercress to an old man while he is trying to get in the house. She is holding a child on her back and a basket full on her arm. Another child is also in the scene with the back turned to the viewer. Two women are at the window upstairs looking down on them. This scene is taking place at Portland Street. Coloured etching and aquatint.
