Early telephone handset. This elaborately designed telephone was made in 1895, by LM Ericsson and Company of Stockholm. It was used for many years in a house in St Pancras. It is decorated in black lacquer with gold. Ericsson's early training as an instrument maker is reflected in the high standard of finish and the ornate design of his telephones of this period.
