Rosewood and papier mache table. Rosewood table with a papier mache pedestal of figures representing Venus & Apollo under a palm tree. The heads were copied from the Apollo Belvedere and the Venus de Milo. In 1851, the table was exhibited at the Great Exhibition by the firm of Sir Joshua Jackson. It was subsequently given by them to the donor's grandfather who added the rosewood top.
