Man's Coronation suit and robes. This white satin doublet in 'mock Tudor' style was part of the Coronation suit and robes worn by Alleyne Fitzherbert, Lord of St. Helen's (1753-1839), at the coronation of George IV in 1821. It has a high collar, tabbed basque and full upper sleeves, the whole lavishly decorated with woven cloth of gold braid and gold loops; fit is fastened at the waist with buttons covered with gold thread.
