The photograph shows the yard of the Oxford Arms, a seventeenth-century galleried inn that was demolished in 1876. The yard followed and was demolished in1903. The inn stood in a short lane leading out of the west side of Warwick Lane. This is one of a collection of images commissioned by the Society for Photographing Relics of Old London to record historic buildings that were being threatened with demolition.
