During the Women's Coronation Procession, held in London on 17 June 1911, women from diverse backgrounds came together to parade their political views. These nurses stood amongst them. Colourful banners played a prominent part at these demonstrations and other activities of the Suffragist movement. The banners were striking, detailed works of art, bearing emblems, names of campaigners and famous female figures and achievements.
