Decimalisation lesson at Courtland Junior School. At Courtland Junior School in Mill Hill, pupils were learning how to deal with decimalisation. The new coinage system was introduced that year. 'D-day' for the official change to decimalisation was 15 February 1971. The Decimal Currency Board established campaigns preparing for the switchover several years in advance. Teachers received booklets explaining the system around 21 months before 'D-day'.
