This print portrays two exceptionally short people. Dwarfism is a condition caused by a disorder which prevents the bones from developing fully. Although Lady Morgan is whimsically described as the 'celebrated Windsor fairy', Thomas Allen's small stature is viewed as 'surprising'. From the scale in feet and inches shown to the left, it appears that the couple on the right are unusually tall. The average height of Georgian Londoners was just over 5 feet 7 inches for a man and about 5 feet 2 inches for a woman.
