Weavers spool winder. Sindall's Silk Trimming factory was established in Dalston in 1864. During the early 20th century, the company became one of London's last surviving manual manufacturers of silk cord and braids. This weaver's spool winder was similar in principle to a spinning wheel but was turned by a handle. It would have been used by generations of Sindall's workers.
