The Suffragette. On the front cover of this copy of 'The Suffragette' dated 4 July 1913 are photographs of four suffragettes: Annie Kenney, Geraldine Lennox, Rachel Barrett and Alice Lake. Under the heading 'Cat and Mouse Torture', the lead article refers to is the suffragettes' re-arrest under the Prisoner's Temporary Discharge for Ill Health Act which was referred to by the suffragettes as the 'Cat and Mouse Act'. This Act allowed all imprisoned suffragettes made ill through hunger-striking to be released temporarily, only to be re-imprisoned once they had recovered.
