This suffragette is taking part in a demonstration in Whitehall in 1912. On the back of the photo is written: 'Personally conducted or is it a mild flirtation?' The suffragette is shown walking in the road so as to avoid being arrested for obstruction. Her placard incorporates a convict's arrow, which is possibly an indication of her previous imprisonment for the campaign.
