Servant's bell indicator. As more homes acquired electricity, manufacturers developed electric servants' bell indicator boards. These were put in servants' quarters and used to summon them to particular rooms. This board was linked to bells in five different rooms in the house. When a bell was rung, a red star flag would drop down in the the window to indicate where service was required. The five circular holes are marked: 'Front Dr.', 'Dining rm.', 'Bed rm 1', 'Bed rm 2', 'Bath rm'.
