Metal box with Castor Oil capsules. Castor Oil has been administered as a natural laxative for centuries. Although it was traditionally regarded as particularly good for children and the elderly, the taste of the thick, oily liquid medicine made it extremely unpopular. These capsules were a less unpleasant alternative to swallow.
