Mechanical penny toy of boy with butterfly net. This tinplate penny toy of a boy trying to catch a butterfly was made in Germany by Georg Fischer. Its mechanism moves the net across the toadstool as the boy moves closer. It was sold to Ernest King in London on 24 December 1908. King collected a vast number of penny toys, all bought from London street vendors around Ludgate Hill and St Paul's Cathedral.
