Washing machine. The Red Star washing machine, made by the Canadian company Beatty Brothers Ltd, of London, Canada, worked on the mechanised dolly peg principle. This was an improvement on the traditional method of washing clothes, in that only a handle or wheel needed to be turned to recreate the movement of a dolly.
